Head Start is hiring teachers and campus staff

Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) offers a true work-life balance attitude and a demonstrated positive culture and climate. HCDE recently approved a $15 per hour minimum wage for all positions.

Head Start and Early Head Start are federally funded early childhood development programs targeting students from birth through age 4. HCDE runs 15 Head Start campuses and 5 Early Head Start campuses in the eastern portion of Harris County, partnering with childcare centers for an additional 6 locations. Head Start programming focuses on the whole child and includes not only academic and social/emotional development for students, but also family engagement and parental support. Learn more about Head Start.
